Cultural meeting center since 1975, the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud pursues the ambition of Ideal City desired by its founder. It welcomes visitors, artists in residence and delegates daily. Cultural programming, exhibitions and digital innovations invite everyone to live their own experience of Fontevraud.

Located in the Fannerie building, a historic monument, Fontevraud has been hosting a Museum of Modern Art since May 2021. This donation enriches the heritage and cultural dimension of Fontevraud, the oldest meeting center created nearly 50 years ago.

Founded in 1101 on the borders of Anjou, Touraine and Poitou, Fontevraud owes its power to the Plantagenets and its close ties with Eleanor of Aquitaine.
