The Street Art Park...
an Urban Museum
Open-Air
On the Loire à Vélo route and the road Compostelle, the Street Art Park of the Château de Candes is a unique place where urban art invites itself into a natural park of over 12 acre. For 4 years, the domain has been hosting artistic residencies that offer street art artists the opportunity to express themselves far from the city's walls, in an exceptional natural setting. Through the seasons, the park transforms into a real open-air gallery, inviting visitors to a stroll where contemporary art interacts with nature.
Open from late April to late December, from 10am to 7pm.
An artistic and botanical stroll
As you stroll through the park, you will discover original works created by local and nation-wide artists, while enjoying the serenity of a green space. The park is home to century-old trees with rare species, such as yews, cedars, larches, and maritime pines, adding a botanical dimension to your visit. An invitation to wonder indeed.
A place full of history
The Street Art Park stands out for its artworks, but also for its historical heritage. Built near the medieval walls of Candes-Saint-Martin, the park contains traces of an ancient Gallo-Roman city and a mysterious arena, unique in Touraine, whose origins remain unknown to this day. Occupied by the artist Topaz, this arena is now a symbol of the meeting between past and modernity, between historical remains and contemporary creations.
A unique Feng Shui atmosphere
While strolling in the park, you will undoubtedly feel a profound sense of well-being, enhanced by the Feng Shui atmosphere that prevails in these places. This soothing setting also inspired the writer Renée Boylesve, who set the action of her novel "The Lesson of Love in a Park", published in 1902, here.
Exceptional summer events
Every summer, the Street Art Park becomes even more lively during its Nocturnes, offering fire shows, live performances, live music, and open-air dinners. A magical moment where the park transforms under the stars, providing a different artistic and sensory experience.
The Street Art Park is a surprising blend of urban art in a listed park at the heart of the Loire Valley, a reflection of the quirky spirit that the owners of the Château de Candes have chosen to embrace. This unique approach, where tradition meets the avant-garde, makes this museum a destination of choice for lovers of art, history, and nature.
